The views from the cottage are breathtaking and it has a wonderful position on the organic farm of South Cobbinshaw overlooking the Pentland Hills and Cobbinshaw Loch. The road up to the cottage is a typical uneven farm road that crosses the loch via a causeway (see photo above) The 310 acre loch was built in 1818 to feed the Union Canal and was also used by passing steam trains to collect water.
The comfortable sitting room has a solid wood floor, woodburning stove and includes a sofabed, colour TV, freeview, DVD and video. There are books, games and magazines for the whole family to enjoy.
The separate dining room is situated off the kitchen and also has a solid wood floor, a large dining table to seat 6+ and a CD player. There is a highchair too.
Set within the peaceful tranquillity of an organic farm this gorgeous 2 bedroomed cottage is the perfect retreat for a relaxing Scottish holiday while being only 22 miles from the centre of Edinburgh, 30 from the hustle of Glasgow and 7 miles from the designer shops of Livingston. A perfect base for exploring many areas of scenic Scotland. Travel north, south, east or west and you won't be disappointed....
Why not spend an afternoon curled up with a good book in the cosy living room in front of a roaring fire; enjoy the view across the fields to the Pentland Hills from the back deck while you sip your tea or wine; take stroll down to the loch or choose one of the many outdoor activities the area has to offer.
