The Shepherds Rest, South Cobbinshaw

"Shepherds Rest" is our delightful shepherds hut. It provides tasteful, luxurious accommodation with a difference – more glamorous alternative to camping called Glamping. It has an ensuite shower room, a settee by day that folds into a double bed at night and a small cooking area with hob,a small fridge and cooking utensils etc. The hut is a work of art, superbly insulated, beautifully crafted and based on the original 19th century Victorian shepherd's hut.

It makes for the ideal hideaway and rural retreat taking you back in time for a truly relaxing and unique place to stay.

You’ll love the day-bed: simply relax, read or listen to music with a lovely view to the vegetable patch.

There’s an Ipod dock and radio as well as a selection of books to delve into and help you switch off.

Clothes washing facilities can be found in the utility room which is attached to the farmhouse. Linen and towels are provided.

The Shepherd’s Hut is tucked away in a peaceful corner overlooking a field, home to happily grazing sheep.

Dine alfresco and enjoy the fire pit BBQ and the bucket BBQ outside the hut whilst listening to your music from the iPod station. Enjoy the night sky sitting around the fire pit, maybe toasting a few marshmallows for a late night treat.

Life inside the hut is compact – after all it is glamorous camping, yet with the high ceilings and double bed its charm gives it big personality - after all it's more glamorous than camping!

Clothes washing facilities are in the utility room inside the owner’s house accessed through a side door. The owner’s do occasionally use the washing machine in the utility room but respect this space for guests and guests are given priority.

The shepherd’s hut is a complete escape therefore there is no internet connection. If you need access, WIFI is available when inside the utility room in the main house.*Unfortunately due to COVID-19 these facilities are not available at present*

The short drive to the hut from the main road is a mini adventure in itself. The trackcan be a wee bit bumpy in places but take your time, pick your line and enjoy the scenery!

4WD vehicles are ideal but the average 2WD car will be able to negotiate the track. Low suspension sports cars will struggle and risk damage to their undercarriage. Ferraris and Lamborghinis should stay at home!
