Gairnshiel Cottage, South Cobbinshaw

Located down a lochside track, surrounded by wildlife and views, Gairnshiel Cottage offers peace and tranquility overlooking the Pentland Hills and Cobbinshaw Loch. This lovely 2 bedroomed cottage is the perfect retreat for a relaxing Scottish holiday while being only 22 miles from the centre of Edinburgh, 30 from the hustle of Glasgow and 7 miles from the designer shops of Livingston. A perfect base for exploring many areas of scenic Scotland. Travel north, south, east or west and you won't be disappointed....

The galleried entrance hall is bright and airy with a flagstone floor. There is a cupboard for hanging coats and access to the upstairs.

Straight ahead through a large double door is the Shaker-style kitchen.

The kitchen has a flagstone floor and is equipped with everything you need for your stay including fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fan oven and hob.

There is a stable style back door that opens onto a decked area into the enclosed back garden.

The comfortable lounge has a solid wood floor, woodburning stove , colour TV, freeview and DVD player. There are books, games, DVDs and magazines for the whole family to enjoy.The separate dining room is situated off the kitchen and also has a solid wood floor, a large dining table to seat 6+ and a DAB radio. There is also a shower room on the ground floor.

Upstairs there are 2 beautifully decorated bedrooms one with a king-size bed and the other with twin beds.

The bathroom, with its views over the fields, has a white bathroom suite with a Victorian-style shower attachment.

The multi-fuel stove gives a lovely and cosy feel to the cottage living room and guests will enjoy all the books, toys, games, wealth of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans.

Why not spend an afternoon curled up with a good book in the cosy living room in front of a roaring fire; enjoy the view across the fields to the Pentland Hills from the back deck while you sip your tea or wine; take a stroll down to the loch and sit on the jetty or choose one of the many outdoor activities the area has to offer.

Just so you know......

The short drive to the cottage from the main road is a mini adventure in itself. The track can be a wee bit bumpy in places but take your time, pick your line and enjoy the scenery!

4WD vehicles are ideal but the average 2WD car will be able to negotiate the track. Low suspension sports cars will struggle and risk damage to their undercarriage. Ferraris and Lamborghinis should stay at home!

The cottage is located with other buildings but the back garden is private with views over to the Pentland Hills.
